Food
The category of food and food waste encompasses leftovers and surpluses from food production and marketing processes, especially from the baking and pasta industry. These materials are rich in carbohydrates, starches, and sugars, presenting good potential for both energy use and animal feed, when legal and technical requirements are met.
In their raw state, these wastes have a high volume, high perishability, variable moisture content, and a short shelf life, making frequent disposal costly and logistically complex. Pelletizing allows these byproducts to be transformed into stable, homogeneous pellets with greater durability, enabling their productive reuse and reducing disposal costs.

Energy Applications
Solid fuel for compatible boilers and furnaces.
Local thermal power generation
Partial replacement of fuel oil, firewood or gas.
Animal Aplications
Component for animal feed formulations
Complementary feeding, according to species and productive stage.
Use under technical guidance and in compliance with legal regulations.
Commercial Applications
Component for animal feed formulations
Complementary feeding, according to species and productive stage.
Use under technical guidance and in compliance with legal regulations.
Final result of the pellet
Solid, stable and uniform pellet
High energy or nutritional potential, depending on the application.
Easy dosage and handling.
Prolonged storage. Reusable and marketable product.

Technical observations
For use in animal feed, compliance with current legislation is required (MAPA, ANVISA and good sanitary practices).
For energy use, the compatibility of the pellet with the thermal equipment must be validated (ash, emissions and calorific value). Ideal process moisture is generally between 10% and 15%.
Pre-grinding recommended below 6 mm. Typical compaction temperature between 80 and 100 °C, depending on the material.

Results evaluation
If any material is not mentioned above, please send us a message. Pellnex tailors the process according to the type of food waste, defining drying, grinding, pelleting, and bagging according to the production flow, available layout, and energy or nutritional objectives.
